  • Decentralized Application (DApp): An application that runs on a blockchain network, utilizing smart contracts for backend operations.

  • Consensus Mechanism: A protocol used to achieve agreement on a single data value among distributed processes or systems.

  • Proof of History (PoH): A cryptographic clock used in Solana to order transactions and events.

  • Tower Byzantine Fault Tolerance (BFT): A consensus mechanism used in Solana for securing the network.

  • Smart Contract: Self-executing contracts with the terms directly written into code, running on the blockchain.

  • Staking: The process of locking up tokens to support network operations and earn rewards.

  • Liquidity Pool: A collection of funds locked in a smart contract to facilitate decentralized trading.

  • Yield Farming: The practice of earning rewards by providing liquidity to DeFi platforms.

  • Zero-Knowledge Proof: A cryptographic method by which one party can prove to another that a statement is true without revealing any additional information.
